Ossington Night Market

decided to skip out on pride festivities last minute and head up ossington instead and looky what i found!
started at sweaty betty's and ended up at Rolly's Garage for this amazing Michael Jackson jam. the scene seemed way too cool to be in this city of ours. great music, wicked style had by all and to walk around and shop with a cocktail in hand? too good to be true.
jamie and i purchased jewelry from Melissa Clemente Designs who turned out to be a good friend of the foxy miss Rina (love ya girl) and jamie picked herself up a satin pillow case top from the sexy folks from Good Blood Bad Blood (13 kensington).

the evening continued on to baby huey for west end boys but those pics will come later. ;)

milk

i'm not sure that you know this about me but i have a had a long running obsession with low brow art. it began around 1992 when a friend of mine brought me a copy of juxtapoz magazine for me as a souvenier from NYC. i had been smitten with tank girl already for some time but this magazine expanded my paramiters to a new level.

now i collect books, prints, toys, images and tattoos. my most famous being the Mark Ryden tattoo across my back. i will share this with you one day. ;)

my collecting hobby ebs and flows but i love coming across a new artist that peaks my interest and brings out the artist in me. surfing around a clients facebook page this morning i came across Chiara "milk" Bautista. she's somewhere between manga, Mike Giant and Sam flores with a touch of Tara McPherson and i think she is fantastic.
check out her stuff here..... <3

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac makes lego glasses and Muppets website.
love it.

my kind of party

it looks like the Italians do it better.....still.
my lovely friend Heather from New York was visiting last week and I convinced her to extend her trip until Monday to come to some MMVA after parties. It's events like that that remind me of how small the Toronto scene is compared to other major centres around the world but I tell ya, there was no shortage of attitude. It's like small-man-syndrome. are you really going to compensate for you inadequacies by being an asshole?

i would accept it from these guys though. :)

Dolla dolla bills y'all!

On saturday Matt from the Queen Mother Cafe came in for a haircut which turned into after work Caesars and then to him cooking banana curry for dan and I at our place...then happy birthday jen with the unbelievers at the silver dollar, drinks at the hideout and a temporarily lost vintage leather jacket!

Needless to say we survived to live another day. Barely.

timing timing timing.
oh how timing and tone are becoming such an issue in my life.
hopefully there will be time in the next few days to jazz up my blonde to something a little more beige.
